Great Technological Ideas

I’m a regular visitor of www.SPACE.com – a website about anything related to space and technology. Recently they have this article which I find to be very very interesting. According to the story, NASA just opened its new “Propulsion Research Center” whose goal is to develop new and unique propulsion systems for space. Some of their ideas are nuclear propulsion (fission and possibly fusion), electric arc stuff, new generations of the ion engine, and antimatter drives. What I find most amusing however is the idea of putting up a giant slingshot in space. They call it the Momentum-Exchange/Electrodynamic-Reboost (MXER) Tether System. Read the rest of this entry »

For us who are in the northern part of the world, storms turn counter-clockwise. This is mainly due to the direction to which earth rotates. Furthermore, more storms are generated in the northern hemisphere than on the south because the water temperature in the southern hemisphere is generally colder than on the north.
