Total Lunar Eclipse on August 28

Just a couple of weeks after this coming August’s great meteor shower, the gods decided to treat us lowly humans with another spectacle.
Get ready for August 28′s total Lunar eclipse. While most astronomers (amateur or not) based in the Philippines will be quite disappointed in not seeing the beginning of the eclipse, I think most romantic people (like me) would love to see an eclipsed moon rising from the horizon. Here’s more or less what you’re going to see.

Yes, the moon will be dark and rusty-colored when it rises in the Philippines this August 28 and will remain eclipsed by Earth’s shadow until after 7pm. Now, what’s best thing to do? Find a place with a clear view of the eastern horizon. Bring some food and perhaps that engagement ring that you always wanted to give.
Clear skies!

i love stuffs like this one, though, it’s my first time to take a view of a lunar eclipse. yep! because i’m still young, hehe…before, i am not yet aware of it. but interested! in fact, i have books about astronomy. and i love reading them when vacation, cold and afternoon. especially on decembers…i am not allowed to go out of house when already dark, because my parent’s are so strict when it comes to our night activities! huh! but this one, i won’t really miss it!!! it’s my opportunity. sige po, mga ate at kuya!!! sana makahanap ako ng magandang spot at magandang view! geh, bye!
sa tingin ko, maulap ngayon. sana di ma-block ng ulap ung moon…
sayang, it’s raining here in baguio =(
It’s like….TODAY!!! prepare people!
wow!! ang ganda talaga ng taon na ito ang raming nagaganap na magaganda hindi ko ito makakalimutan
Happy Birthday to the lunar eclipse celebrants! I hope you were able to watch the eclipse! To those who were not able to see it, I share your sadness as I too wasn’t able to see it. The eclipse was over when the moon got out from behind the clouds.
Anyway, more lunar eclipses will come so just watch out.
Mike
