Meteor Showers - July 28 to August 19

Ye all astronomy buffs and curious people alike. Here ye, here ye! Our humble little planet will be experiencing a barrage of meteor showers. But fear not for they are not dangerous! Rather, they are beautiful and impressive and especially romantic to watch if you’re with your sweetheart. This series of meteor showers will peak between July 28 and August 19. I’ve listed below the exact dates of each:

Shower When Peak Rate Remarks
S. Delta Aquarids July 12 - Aug. 19 July 28 15 Faint, medium speed.
Alpha Capricornid July 3 - Aug. 15 July 30 4-5 Slow, bright, a few fireballs.
S. Iota Aquarids July 25 - Aug. 15 Aug. 4 1 - 2 Faint, medium speed
N. Delta Aquarids July 15 - Aug. 25 Aug. 8 1 - 4 Faint, medium speed
Kappa Cygnids Aug. 3 - Aug. 25 Aug. 18 1 - 3 Slow moving, sometimes brilliant
N. Iota Aquarids Aug. 11 - 31 Aug. 20 1 - 3 Faint, medium speed

Brighten Up Your Garden

A simple garden can make a great impact in making one’s yard beautiful. However, the problem with having a garden, even the simplest ones, is maintaining it. Caring of the plants alone require dedication. Then there comes other costs such as electricity for garden lights and after two months of getting billed by your electricity company, you will notice how much money your garden lights is consuming. Skydiving from the Edge of Space

spacediver Frenchman Michel Fournier is readying himself and equipment to attempt a record-setting free fall from the stratosphere.Dubbed “The Big Jump”, Fournier is eyeing next month for his supersonic free fall from about 130,000 feet (40 kilometers)—roughly 25 miles above the Earth. The dive from a balloon-carried gondola is slated to take place above the plains of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Evolution in Action

I’m quite a religious Christian and because of that many people find it odd that I also believe in evolution.  And now, for the first time, scientists see evolution in action right before their own eyes.
