The Geminids meteor shower is favorable for the Philippines. The phase of the moon will be two days old and thus set just an hour after sunset. Maximum will be at 4:45am of December 14. Its rate reaches 80 meteors per hour. The meteor shower is consistent and rich in fireballs and bolides. Its parent is not a comet but an asteroid by the name of 3200 Phaeton.
