Geminids Meteor Shower Alert

The Geminids meteor shower is favorable for the Philippines. The phase of the moon will be two days old and thus set just an hour after sunset. Maximum will be at 4:45am of December 14. Its rate reaches 80 meteors per hour. The meteor shower is consistent and rich in fireballs and bolides. Its parent is not a comet but an asteroid by the name of 3200 Phaeton.

      Is there a specific spot in where the meteor shower will be held? Or is in visible for the whole country?

      hi. i’ve never seen a meteor shower and am actually looking forward to the geminid meteor shower this december 14 since i’ve read that it’s very favorable for the philippines. can you advise what will be the best time to watch and what part of the sky i should be watching. thanks so much. :)

      Hello, the 2007 Geminids is visible all throughout the Philippines. Should start to be visible after sunset and will continue until sunrise. Peak is expected to start at around 11pm local time.
